Objective: 

Students are required to familiarize themselves with software MATHEMATICA, for numerical computation on the following topics:

  • Plotting of 2 D figures using graphics (points, line, circle, ellipse, disc).
  • Graphical plotting of 3 D figures using graphics (points, line, sphere, cone, cylinder).
  • Simple graph, directed graph and labeled graph.
  • Adjacency matrix of a graph.
  • Incidence matrix of a graph.
  • Styling in a graph plot.
  • Matrix operations (addition, multiplication, inverse, determinant, transpose).
  • Solving the system of linear equations through matrices.
  • Introduction of vector and operations on vectors, unit vector. 
  • Scalar and vector product, scalar triple product.
  • Angle between two vectors.
  • Divergence, curl and gradient of vectors.  
  • Permutation, combinations and their relations.
  • Recurrence relation.
  • Generating functions.
