Objective: 
This course will enable the students to -
  • Familiarize with software MATHEMATICA, for numerical computation of the fundamental arithmetic operations using Mathematica.
  • Computate the fundamental concepts of single variable and multivariable calculus.
  • Demonstrate algebraic facility with algebraic topics including linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions.
  • Produce and interpret graphs of basic functions of these types.
  • Solve equations and inequalities, both algebraically and graphically

After the completion of the course the students will be able to:

CLO12- Wolfram  Mathematica  is  software  used  to  perform  both  simple  and complicated mathematical calculations which requires no previous knowledge of or training in computer programming

CLO13- This course is about programming in Mathematica oriented into advanced data analysis and will cover such areas as econometrics in addition to the language of the software itself. Because it can be used for a variety of computational techniques it can be useful for students in mathematics, the sciences, management, economics, finance, accounting and information sciences.

Students are required to familiarize themselves with popular software like MATLAB/ MATHEMATICA, for numerical computation .The department  will  decide  the topic of practical at the beginning of the session. Few topics are given below for reference. (Application problems are to be taken).
 
 
1. Differentiation of a function.
2. Partial Differentiation.
3. Tracing of Curves(Cartesian, Polar and parametric).
