Guest speaker: Prof. Andrew Tetnov, Dept. of Mathematics, Gaurno Altarik State University, Russia
The Department of Mathematics, The IIS University, has organized a Guest Lecture on 25 February 2015. The guest speaker was Prof. Andrew Tetnov, Department of Mathematics, Gaurno Altarik State University, Russia. His research areas include Fractal and Geometry.
He has published more than 200 papers in several reputed international journals with high impact factors and delivered various invited lectures on Geometry, Algebra and Fractals. Further, he is a member of a number of academic committees.
Dr. Ritu Jain, Head of Department, Mathematics, The IIS University addressed the gathering with a warm welcome note. The lecture was attended by faculty members and approx. 80 Students of various department of physicial and computing sciences.
Prof. Andrew Tetnov delivered a very interesting lecture on the topic “Fractal Geometry and Applications". Prof. Tetnov spoke on the most distinctive application of engineering, science, and technology contributions. He also discussed on the concepts of mathematical morphology and fractal geometry. Prof. Tetnov patiently answered all questions asked by the participants pertaining to the issues of applications and future research directions in various fields. Students are highly benefited by the lecture as Topology is part of their curriculum and having vast scope in future.
