Discipline of Mathematics has organized a workshop on “A New Scientific Language LATEX” on 7th February 2023.
Objective of the Event: To make student aware about the recent trends in LaTeX and to encourage them to enrol in the department's value-added course.
Description:
LaTeX is a document preparation system used for the communication and publication of scientific works. This programming language creates a PDF file specifically from a LaTeX document. Workshop coordinator Dr. Mudita Menon started the programme by discussing about the importance of LaTeX for the science students and its function in research. She instructed them on how to work online or download tex studio in order to begin using that language. She encouraged students to enroll in the value-added course.
The workshop was attended by 34 students of various semesters. Students enjoyed the activities planned by the department and gained an insight about the LaTeX.
Outcome of the Event:
After attending the workshop students were highly motivated and approx. 15 students were enrolled for the value added course.
