GUEST LECTURE:Mathematical Modeling
Guest speaker: Prof. V.K. Katiyar Professor, Head of Department, Department of Mathematics I.I.T. Roorkee.
He has published more than 110 research papers in various reputed international journals with high impact factors. He has got his Ph.d. from Kanpur University, Kanpur in 1988. His research was on Analytical Studies of Transfer Processes in two Phase flows.
The welcome note was given by Dr. Sanjay Kedia, Asst Professor of Mathematics, IIS University, Jaipur. The seminar was attended by the faculty members and approx. 39 post graduate Students from department of mathematics.
Prof. V.K. Katiyar delivered a very interesting lecture on the topic “Mathematical Modeling ". He gave a brief talk on Differential Equations and partial differential Equations and how these are used in modeling. He discusses about different mathematical models like Exponential growth model, Logistic growth mode, Epidemic model, Predator-prey model etc. spoke on the applications of Geometry. He explains how mathematical models are used in computer application and other Engineering applications. He kindly answered many questions of students.
Finally, Mr. Navneet Mittal thanked Prof. V.K. Katiyar for delivering an enlightening and informative talk to the students and faculty members of IIS University, Jaipur.
